Information:
Family Of EnginesDescription of Change: A stronger spacer plate is used under the cylinder heads on the 3500 Family of Engines. The new plate is wider at the front and rear sides around the water seal holes. This makes the plate stronger in these two areas. The new plates are identified by the part number "9Y1485" on the plate. A new gasket that is also wider at the same locations is used with the new spacer plate.
Adaptable To: The new 9Y1485 Spacer Plate can be used as a direct replacement for the former 8N6864 Spacer Plate which is canceled. The new 9Y1484 Gasket is a direct replacement for the former 9Y2683 Gasket or 7N2038 Gasket, which are both canceled. New and former plates and gaskets can be used together. The 9Y1484 and 9Y2683 Gaskets have a sealant coating around the hole for the pushrod compartment. The side with the sealant coating goes next to the block.
