Be sure the parking brake is applied and holding the machine before leaving the cab.Always block wheels securely before leaving the machine.
Stop the machine on level ground. 1. Release the accelerator (1) and depress the service brake pedal (2) to stop the machine.2. Move the transmission control (3) to NEUTRAL, after the machine has stopped.3. Apply the parking brake (4).Stopping the Engine
1. Run the engine at low idle for five minutes.2. Turn the engine start switch to OFF to stop the engine.In an emergency, the ground level shutdown handle can be pulled.
Turn the disconnect switch off after the engine is stopped, to prevent battery discharge.
3. Raise the levers up to drain the service brake/retarder engine governor and the parking/secondary brake air reservoirs. After the tanks drain, return the levers to the DOWN position. 4. Drain the air start reservoir. The air start tank should be drained with the engine running and allowed to refill prior to engine shutdown, unless an external air source is available to recharge the reservoir.If an external air source is used, drain the water from the external air source system, before recharging air start system.5. Turn the engine start switch to OFF and remove the key. Turn off disconnect if machine is to be idle for some time.6. If the machine is parked on a slope, block the wheels.7. Use the steps and hand holds when dismounting.
