2. Put identification marks on wires (1) for assembly purposes.3. Disconnect wires (1) from the sending unit in the outlet relief valve.4. Remove clip (2) from the valve body. 5. Remove bolts (4) that hold the elbow to the relief valve.6. Remove bolts (3) and the outlet relief valve. The following steps are for installation of the torque converter outlet relief valve.7. Make sure the O-ring seals are in position on the relief valve.8. Put the relief valve in position, and install bolts (3) that hold it in place.9. Install bolts (4) that hold the elbow in position.10. Install clip (2) on the relief valve as shown.11. Connect wires (1) to the sending unit.12. Fill the planetary transmission with oil to the correct level. Start By:a. remove torque converter outlet relief valve (earlier) 1. Remove O-ring seals (2) and (3) from valve body (1).
There is spring pressure behind cover (5).
2. Carefully remove bolts (4) and cover (5) from the valve body. Remove the O-ring seal from the cover. 3. Remove spring (9), shims (8) and valve spool (12).4. Remove spiral ring (10), retainer (6), spring (11) and poppet (7) from the valve spool. The following steps are for the assembly of the torque converter outlet relief valve.
Do not use caustic (corrosive) materials to clean any parts in this valve group. Caustic materials will cause corrosion and damage to parts.
5. Put poppet (7), spring (11), retainer (6) and spiral ring (10) in position in valve spool (12).6. Put the valve spool, shims (8) and spring (9) in position in the valve body.7. Put the O-ring seal in position in cover (5), and install the cover and bolts (4).8.
