This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8870" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the January 16, 1997 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Parts Needed.

There is no main power relay on the standard version of 12H, 120H, 135H, 140H, and 160H Motor Graders. This causes gages in the panel to remain hot and the differential switch to remain hot all the time when the master disconnect key is left on. Leaving the master disconnect key on will drain the batteries.

GROUP 1 AFFECTED PRODUCT
No main power relay on standard versions: This causes gages in panel to be hot all the time "WHEN MASTER KEY IS ON", will run down batteries. Change makes panel "HOT" only when key start is on.

Standard Versions Only.Steering Console Harness As. - 126-9204For reference; At the top inside of steering console there is an unused starting aid connector (200G black 614E purple 308B yellow 310B purple wires).
At the start aid switch, remove the 308B yellow wire from the connector, "Cut" the blade terminal from the 308B yellow wire. Using a 3E7998 blade terminal, crimp an additional 12 inches of 16 gauge yellow wire along with the exsisting 308B yellow wire to the terminal and reinstall in the connector. At the other end of the added 12 inches of 16 gauge yellow, crimp a 065-5071 blade terminal At the differential unlock switch, remove the 165D yellow wire and cover the end with shrink tube. Connect the remaining end of the added 12 inches of 16 gauge yellow wire
