Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the cylinder head.Inlet and Exhaust Valves

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

Use Tooling (A) to compress valve spring (1) .
Remove retainer lock (2) .
Remove Tooling (A). Remove the valve rotator and spring (1) .
Remove valve rotator (3), outer spring (5), inner spring (4), and seal (6) .Note: Place an identification mark on valves (7) for the assembly procedure.

Check the valve spring force with Tooling (B). Refer to the Specifications Module for the correct spring force values.
Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for the remaining valves.Valve Train Bridge Dowels
