Note: This procedure is only for a UPS/SMS System. This procedure is not used in the Paralleled MMU System configuration.Each user and service account on the UPS needs set up with a callback number in order to dial into the UPS remotely via a modem.The callback number is a security feature that allows only authorized remote access to the UPS.The callback number is entered via the Graphical User Interface on the front of the Controls cabinet.There can be one callback number per user and service account.The Master User can set up accounts for the Users.The Service login can set up accounts for all Service level accounts.Callback Setup
Log into the UPS via the Graphical User Interface as Master User or Service.
Select the "Control" button at the top of the screen.
Select the "Edit User Settings" button.
Select the User that needs edited.
Select the "Dialback Number:" button.
Enter the phone number of the phone line for the remote computer.
Select the "Enter" button to save the number.
Confirm that the number is correct on the "Dialback Number:" button.
Select the "Save" button in order to save the changes that were made to the user account.
Select the "Log Off" button to log off the user.Login Procedure
Open UPS View.
Dial into the UPS via UPS View.
Log in under one of the usernames that were set up in Step 4 above.The following tasks are completed by the UPS.
The UPS hangs up the modem.
The UPS calls the user back at the number that was specified Step 6 of the "Callback Setup" section.The following tasks are completed by UPS View.
UPS View answers the modem.
UPS View completes the login to the UPS.
