Clean the outer surface of the crankshaft with 6V-1541 Quick Cure Primer.b. Crankshaft seals must be installed with the lip of the seal toward the inside of the engine, as shown. Make sure the correct seal is installed on each end of the crankshaft. Use the 2W-1733 Seal Group on the front and the 2W-1734 Seal Group on the rear. No lubrication is needed to install the wear sleeves and the seals. c. Do not separate the seals from the sleeves. Install the seal groups as a unit on each end of the engine, as shown, with the correct tools.
