Tractors with Direct Drive TransmissionDescription of Change: There is now an opening in the right fender to give a way to remove the cross shaft for the gear shift controls on direct drive D4E Tractors. After the cross shaft is removed, the cover on the transmission can be removed without removal of the transmission. Formerly, the transmission had to be removed from the machine to remove this cover. To add this improvement to earlier machines, loosen the cross shaft in the gear shift control group and move it toward the right fender. Make a mark at the location where an opening must be cut to remove the cross shaft. Cut a 1.25" (32 mm) diameter hole in the fender and gusset. Use a 5P9212 Plug to close the opening.
