Front of Scraper Engine (1) Flywheel scavenge pump (2) Line from the reservoir of the transfer gear case (3) Transfer gear case (4) Line to the drive shaft bearing cageFlywheel scavenge pump (1) is located on transfer gear case (3) at the front of the scraper engine. The pump is driven by the engine output gear which is located inside the transfer gear case (3). Oil for the flywheel scavenge pump is delivered from the engine flywheel through a screen and into the reservoir for transfer gear case (3). The oil then flows from transfer gear case (3) through a second screen into line (2) and to flywheel scavenge pump (1). The oil then flows out of flywheel scavenge pump (1) through line (4) to the drive shaft bearing cage. The oil then flows from the drive shaft bearing cage to the transmission hydraulic tank.
