Remove the Idler (Rear). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Idler (Rear) - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (1).
Remove seal collar (2) from idler (3).

Illustration 3 g01548153Note: Duo-Cone Seal Gp (4) must be kept in the original pairing.
Remove Duo-Cone Seal Gp (4) from seal collar (2). Remove Duo-Cone Seal Gp (4) from the track idler.
Remove shaft (5) from opposite side.

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (6).
Remove seal collar (7) from shaft (4).
Remove Duo-Cone Seal Gp (8) from seal collar (7).
Use Tooling (C) in order to remove O-rings (9) from shaft (5).

Remove Duo-Cone Seal Gp (8).

Position track idler (3) onto a suitable press.
Position Tooling (C) onto the shoulder of bearing (10).
Use the suitable press in order to remove bearing (10).
Repeat Steps 10 through Step 12 in order to remove the bearing on the opposite side of the track idler.
