Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the engine side guards.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove shields (1) .

Disconnect tube assemblies (5). Remove clamps (3) and (4). Remove elbow (2).

Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (7). The weight of turbocharger (7) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Disconnect tube assembly (6) and (9). Remove nuts (8) and discard. Remove turbocharger (7) and the gasket (not shown).
Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for the opposite side. Installation Procedure

Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (7). The weight of turbocharger (7) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Position turbocharger (7) and the gasket (not shown). Apply Tooling (A) to the studs that nuts (8) attach to. Install nuts (8). Do not tighten nuts (8). Connect tube assemblies (6) and (9).

Install elbow (2) and clamps (3) and (4). Connect tube assemblies (5). Tighten the band clamps to a torque of 14 1 N m (124 9 lb in). Tap the nuts lightly. Tighten the band clamps again to a torque of 14 1 N m (124 9 lb in).
Tighten nuts (8) to a torque of 54 5 N m (40 4 lb ft).

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install shields (1) .
Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for the remaining turbocharger.
