The former clearance specification was a maximum clearance which equals the thickness of a thickness gauge plus the thickness of the snap ring.

Follow the next two steps for the adjustment of bearing (9) end play:
If hub (7), spindle (17), bearing (9), needle bearing (8), shaft (11), and spacer (12) are replaced, adjust the end play of bearing (9). When snap ring (10) is replaced, select a snap ring of the same thickness or a snap ring close to the desired thickness.
