7. Remove oil line (13). Disconnect the end of oil line (10) from the bottom of the engine transfer gears.8. Remove the bolts that hold oil line (8) to the supplemental steering pump. Remove oil line (8) from the machine.9. Remove the four bolts that hold elbow (11) in position against the bevel gear case.10. Remove the bolts that hold elbow (12) to the steering pump. Remove elbow (11) and (12) from the machine as a unit.11. Remove shield (9) from over the drive shaft. 12. Fasten a strap and a hoist to drive shaft (14). Remove the bolts that hold the drive shaft in place. Lower the drive shaft to the floor. The weight of the drive shaft is approximately 25 kg (55 lb.). 13. Remove yoke (15). 14. Install two 1/2"-13 NC forcing screws (16) in cage (18). Remove nuts (17). Use forcing screws (16) to remove cage (18) from the bevel gear case.Install Drive Shaft
1. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position on cage (1). Install the cage in the bevel gear case. Make sure the plugs and dowels that hold the races in position in the cage are up toward the top of the bevel gear case.2. Put clean oil on the lip of seal (2). 3. Install yoke (4) in the cage. Put tool (A) in position on the yoke as shown. Use tool (A) to check the total indicator reading (T.I.R.) on the outside diameter of yoke (3).
If the total indicator reading (T.I.R.) is more than 5.33 mm (.210 in.), damage will be the result to drive shaft (5) (see Step 4). When the total indicator reading is above 5.33 mm (.210 in.), the centerline of the engine is not in alignment with the centerline of the yoke and cage. Check to make sure that cage (1) correctly installed on the bevel gear case. If the cage is in the correct position, it will be necessary to move the position of the engine on the frame to make sure that the total indicator reading (T.I.R.) is less than 5.33 mm (.210 in.).
4. Put drive shaft (5) in position under the machine. Use a strap and a hoist to put drive shaft (5) in position. Install bolts (6) that hold the drive shaft in position. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 435 20 N m (321 15 lb.ft.). 5. Put shield (7) in position over the drive shaft. Do not install the two bolts and nut that hold it in place until oil line (10) is installed.6. Make sure the O-ring seals are in position in the ends of elbows (8) and (9). Install elbows (8) and (9) on the machine as a unit. Install the bolts that hold them in place.7. Make sure the O-ring seals are in position in both ends of oil line (10). Install oil line (10) on the machine. Install the four bolts that hold the oil line in position against the supplemental steering
