The lubrication system is designed to operate based on a fixed displacement pump (pump operation visible via rotating reservoir agitator) and live feedback from the main distributor valve. The main distributor valve is equipped with a proximity sensor that signals one full movement (or “stroke”) of a valve spool (indicated by an LED indicator light on valve sensor [If visible. If not visible, check Autolube status screen in CAT ET. Verify Autolube injector position status changing during pump operation]). Due to the progressive nature of the valves (each spool must complete a full stoke before the next spool can move), the flow through the main distributor valve can be calculated using this proximity switch reading. Each machine is configured with a unique quantity of main valve strokes (unique to machine) that must be completed during each lubrication cycle (see “Cycle Times”). The pump will continue to operate and finishes one lube cycle when, the amount of strokes is achieved, unless an error code is detected (see “Error Codes”).Note: A quick indication of proper system operation is a check related to the pump and main distributor valve. During a normal lubrication cycle or during Test modes, the reservoir agitator will rotate while the LED indicator on main valve sensor will turn on and off according to the prescribed stroke count. When prescribed stroke count is met, if error code is present, the reservoir agitator will stop rotating (indicating pump has stopped).Note: Typical lubrication phase of cycle lasts 5-10 minutes.Note: System pauses during machine idle (Idling as defined in Product Link).Cycle Times
The lubrication system is designed to initiate a new lubrication cycle every 30 minutes (factory default). This lubrication cycle frequency may be adjusted within the cab display in 25% increments by selecting “Low,” Medium,” or “High” parameters (Medium = Factory Default). If “Low” is selected, the factory default of “Medium” (30 minutes) will increase by 25% resulting in a new lubrication cycle every 37.5 minutes. Likewise, if “High” is selected, a new lubrication cycle will initiate every 22.5 minutes.Error Codes
E890 - Autolube System Cannot OperateThis error code indicates no flow through main distributor valve. Each machine is assigned a specific “Stroke” count (valve proximity sensor reading of internal valve spool) that must be achieved during every grease cycle. If a single stroke is not detected within 12 minutes of pump operation, the ECM will generate the E890 error code.E863 - Autolube System
