Also notice that the location of the dimples are staggered.Positioning the modules may be confusing because some models have a trash gap formed by the first and second folded core modules (Illustration 2) while other models form the trash gap with the second and third modules (Illustration 3). This means that regardless of the position of the first module, the multiple row modules should have the "narrow" sides toward each other and the "wide" sides toward each other. See Illustration 4 for module dimensions.

Dimensions for positioning the module with the "narrow" sides toward each other, and the "wide" sides toward each other.Each 7E3328 Radiator Core Assembly module is packaged with two different Special Instructions. This results in what could appear to be opposite stiffener tab notch locations. Special Instruction SEHS8864 was originally intended to apply to all models. However, Special Instruction SEHS8948 refers specifically to the installation for D4H Tractors, but should also include the 916, and 926 Loaders, and IT28B Toolcarriers. Therefore, it is possible to have inadvertently installed multiple row modules on a loader or toolcarrier incorrectly by following Special Instruction SEHS8864.
A comparison of the two Special Instructions will reveal that the location of the notch in the stiffener tab appears to be opposite. This represents a one-module shift in the starting point that results from the different position of the folded core trash gap locations.Use the information which follows to position the multiple row modules correctly. This procedure applies to all vehicular engine applications that currently have multiple row modules available for conversion. However, no modules or procedures are available at this time for Off-Highway Trucks and Tractors. See the reference articles in this issue.
Procedure To Position Multiple Row Modules When Replacing Folded Core Radiators
1. Identify the folded core locating depressions (dimples) in the bottom tank. Only the row of dimples CLOSEST to the radiator guard (away from the engine) are used.2. Install new 9Y1654 and 9Y1655 Seals, and 7E2308 Supports. These must be installed on the top and bottom tanks first. Although there is no particular starting point, it is recommended to position and install from one end and work toward the opposite end. This will reduce the chance of any possible damage to the cooling fins on adjacent modules.
3. Determine whether the locating dimple in the bottom tank (guard side) is to the right or left of the coolant hole. Position the multiple row module so that the notch in the center tab is
