Allow the machine to cool before you change the hydrostatic drive oil. Oil could spray when you remove the plug.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The hydrostatic drive box is located on the underside of the machine.

Remove the oil level/fill plug slowly in order to release pressure.

Remove the drain plug and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
Clean the drain plug and install the drain plug.
Add oil until the oil is level with the bottom of the plug threads. Refer to the Special Publications, SEBU6250-11, "Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".
Clean the oil level/fill plug and install the oil level/fill plug.
