Information:

Do not use a pusher when loading an elevating scraper. Push loading may cause damage to the elevating components.
Load your scraper in the direction of the fill.
When you arrive at the cut, reduce travel speed by using the service brake or the retarder. The transmission will downshift automatically. Most loading is done in second gear.
Move the switch for the cushion-hitch to the OFF position in order to make a smooth cut.
Move the ejector to the rear of the bowl.Note: The ejector should always be moved to the rear of the bowl at the finish of dumping the load. The chance of cylinder damage due to bouncing will be reduced.
Move the elevator control lever to the LOAD position. Select the correct elevator speed for the material. Slow speed is recommended for coarse material. Fast speed is recommended for fine material.Note: The elevator must be engaged before loading begins. Do not overload the elevator. The elevator will bounce when the elevator is overloaded. Bouncing of the elevator may cause damage to the elevator. Select a lower gear in order to reduce overload of the elevator. Reduce the depth of your cut in order to reduce overloading.
When the transmission downshifts to the desired speed, move the transmission hold control to the ENGAGED position.
Maintain the engine rpm within the operating range. Start the cut. Maintain a constant speed.
Lower the bowl to a cutting depth that is efficient for loading the material.Note: The cut should be shallow enough to allow the machine to move at a constant speed. If the cut is too deep, the engine may lug. Excessive tire slippage may also occur.Decrease the cutting depth if the engine begins to lug or if the tires slip.Use first speed if more torque is required at the wheels.
Use the differential lock control in order to prevent one wheel from spinning independently. If the tires slip in soft material, reduce the engine speed.Note: Do not engage the differential lock control while a wheel is spinning. Do not turn the machine when the differential lock is engaged.
Drive the machine as straight as possible during loading.
Do not overload the bowl. Overloading the bowl lowers machine efficiency.
When the bowl is full, raise the bowl as you drive forward. The cut will be smoother. Move the elevator control lever to the STOP position.
Release the differential lock control. Accelerate to travelling speed. Disengage the transmission hold control.
Move the switch for the cushion-hitch to the ON position in order to increase operator comfort.Note: When you are working, try to maintain a grade which is suitable for good drainage of water. Down time due to weather will be minimized.
Maneuver around large objects to load or unload. Driving over large objects may damage the transmission case.
Straddle Loading

For efficient loading, leave a ridge between the cuts.Note: The ridges should fit in the distance between the scraper tires.
On succeeding passes, pick up the ridges at a depth below previous cuts. This will leave ridges. Repeat the cycle until the finished depth is reached.
