Assemble new valve covers that are shown in Illustration 4. Once the breather (6) has been assembled, install the breather on the engine.
Feed the breather tube (12) into position, but do not make any connections. The tube must remain loose until the new coolant line has been installed. You may also need to remove the exhaust pipe between the turbocharger and the muffler.
Drain the coolant into a suitable device that can hold 150 L (40 US gal) of fluid. The coolant will be reused once the lines have been changed. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7886, "Cooling System Coolant-Change" for information on draining and filling the cooling system.
Remove the coolant line that is between the tank and the water pump.

Install hoses and the tube that is shown in Illustration 6. The hose must be cut into two sections. The section that connects the water pump to the tube assembly (15) should be cut to 132 cm (52 inch). The section that connects the tube assembly (15) to the tank should be cut to 48 cm (19 inch).

Install the hardware that is shown in Illustration 7.

Fasten the tube (14) by using the hardware that is shown in Illustration 8.

Once the coolant line has been installed, remove the breather (25) that is mounted in the rear gear housing. Opening the access door in the floor of the catwalk directly over the transmission will access the breather.

Once the existing breather and the tube have been removed, install cover (26) with o-ring seal (27) over the opening.
Replace any other components that were removed in order to access the breather in the rear gear housing.

Connect the breather tube to the breathers and install all the hardware in order to fasten the tube to the engine.
Connect the breathers with the hardware that is shown in Illustration 11 and Illustration 12.
If the exhaust pipe between the turbocharger and the muffler was removed, the pipe may be put back on the engine now.
Pump coolant back into the system by using Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7886, "Cooling System Coolant-Change"
Start the engine. Ensure that there are no leaks around the new coolant lines that were installed.
Reinstall all side panels that were removed.
