Hydraulic Modulation Function component connectionsThe Hydraulic Modulation Function allows the operator to select between three levels of hydraulic sensitivity. The three levels are Low, Medium, or High. The level of sensitivity can be selected from the Hydraulic Modulation menu in the Monitor. Once the level of Hydraulic Modulation is selected, the Machine ECM will communicate the command to the Switch Panel on the CAN B Data Link. The Switch Panel will execute the command to the Hydraulic Modulation Solenoid. The solenoid will allow the hydraulic oil flow to be adjusted in order to change the sensitivity of the tool movement.The Machine ECM will use the input signal from the Hydraulic Modulation Enable Trigger Switch on the right joystick to activate or de-activate the function. The electrical current that is supplied to the solenoid by the Switch Panel will be dependent on the requested mode selection from the Monitor. The current values that are used for each selected mode are listed in the following table.

High     700 mA    When the Hydraulic Modulation function is enabled, the Machine ECM will set the swing pump output to the economy mode.When the Hydraulic Modulation function is enabled and any one of the following conditions becomes active, the ECM will disable hydraulic modulation. The Machine ECM will not enable the function until the trigger switch is pressed again.
If the generator is the active tool, and is enabled.
If an auxiliary hydraulic tool is active, and the flow solenoids or the hammer solenoid is active.
If a tool is active, AND the left auxiliary pedal is NOT at the zero position (not depressed).
If any of the boom float modes are active or pending.
If the machine is traveling.When the Switch Panel disables the hydraulic modulation function, the function will remain OFF until the hydraulic modulation enable switch (joystick trigger) is pressed again. The ECM will activate the function at the level that was last selected.
