Do not raise the tow arm higher than 846 mm (34 in) from the ground. Lifting the tow arm any higher will cause the center of gravity to shift to the rear of the unit causing the unit to flip up uncontrollably.When resting on the stand, the unit tongue weight is approximately 122 kg (270 lb). Use an appropriate lifting device to prevent personal injury.
1. Before unhitching the unit, lower the stand and secure the locking pin. 2. All braking is provided by the towing machine, block the drum front and rear whenever unhooking the unit.Freezing Conditions
If freezing temperatures are expected, the drum should be cleaned of mud and dirt and the unit parked on wood planks.Stopping the Engine
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components. Follow the stopping procedure outlined below to allow the engine to cool and to prevent excessive temperatures.
1. Turn the throttle control handle counter-clockwise to unlock the throttle, then push the handle in to the LOW IDLE position.2. Operate the engine at LOW IDLE for five minutes. This allows hot areas in the engine to cool gradually, extending engine life. 3. Stop the engine by turning the key start switch to OFF.Leaving the Unit
1. Remove the key from the switch. This will prevent the engine from being started by unauthorized persons.2. Lock all vandalism caps and covers. Close and lock the engine compartment access doors.
