An improved elbow and a new bolt are now used on the oil pump line in the engines that are listed above. The improvements will allow better alignment of the outlet elbow between the pump with the cylinder block. The bolt holes of the 234-0203 Outlet Elbow have been enlarged to allow more movement in order to create better alignment of the elbow.The old flanged 208-9282 Bolt has been replaced by a new hex 6V-3940 Bolt with a new 9M-1974 Hard Washer. The new bolt and washer also help to align the elbow more precisely with the oil pump and the cylinder block .Use the following procedure to install the 234-0203 Outlet Elbow to the engine oil pump and the cylinder block.

Mount the engine oil pump (7) to the cylinder block (4) by hand tightening the mounting bolts (8) into the cylinder block (4) .
Without the o-rings, assemble the outlet elbow (6) between the block and the oil pump, using bolts (1) and (3) with washers (2). Hand tighten only.

Adjust the outlet elbow and the pump to ensure that no gaps exist between the outlet elbow (6) and the block or between the outlet elbow and the pump at locations (9) .
Remove the outlet elbow.
Place o-ring seal (10) between the elbow and the engine block.
Place o-ring seal (11) between the elbow and the pump.
Mount the outlet elbow between the pump and the cylinder block.
Torque bolt (3) between the elbow and the pump.
Torque bolt (1) between the elbow and the block.

Torque bolt (8a) first, then torque bolt (8b) .
Mount the pickup tube (13) to the pump, hand tightening the bolts (12) .
