Check the control panel daily for indication that the air filter should be replaced.Note: When the inlet air restriction remains at 7 kPa (1.02 psi) or over 7 kPa (1.02 psi) for 5 seconds, an event code will be registered. The engine may derate.
Never run the engine without an air cleaner element installed. Never run the engine with a damaged air cleaner element. Do not use air cleaner elements with damaged pleats, gaskets or seals. Dirt entering the engine causes premature wear and damage to engine components. Air cleaner elements help to prevent airborne debris from entering the air inlet.
If the air cleaner element becomes plugged, the air can split the material of the air cleaner element. Unfiltered air will drastically accelerate internal engine wear. Your Cat dealer has the proper air cleaner elements for your application. Consult your Cat dealer for the correct air cleaner element.Before installation, the air cleaner elements shall be thoroughly checked for tears and/or holes in the filter material. Inspect the gasket or the seal of the air cleaner element for damage. Maintain a supply of suitable air cleaner elements for replacement purposes.

Open the latch and remove the cover for the air cleaner. Remove the cover.
Remove the used air cleaner element and dispose of the element according to local regulations.
Replace the used element with a new element.
Replace the cover into the original position and close the latch.
Repeat this process for each air cleaner element on the engine.
