L.H. bracket assembly shown.15. Install the bracket assembly with four 5S7379 Bolts and 5P1075 Washers. Install one 5S7383 Bolt (7) and 5P1075 Washer. 16. Remove the rubber baffles and metal strips from the top and bottom of rear shields (8).17. Loosen the bolts to shields (8). The shields do not have to be removed for the modification. They only have to be loose enough to lift the bottom and top edges away from the radiator.
Cover the radiator coils before welding, cutting or grinding to prevent damage.
18. Remove 72.0 mm (2.83 in) from the end of shields (8) at four locations (G).19. Leave the shields loose until fit up of the new fan guards.
Top of radiator.20. Install the upper rubber baffles and metal strips (9).21. Bolt fabricated block (10) to the metal strips with 9B7237 Bolts (11) and 5P1075 Washers. Mark the location of block (10) onto the radiator flange.22. Remove the rubber baffles, strip (9) and block (10).
Top of radiator.23. Remove an 160.0 × 13.0 mm (6.30 × .51 in) section from the radiator flange at location (H).
Top of radiator.24. Install the upper rubber baffles and strips (9). Place block (10) under strip (9). Reinstall 4P8953 Bracket Assembly (12) to block (10) with 9B7237 Bolts (11) and 5P1075 Washers. Leave the bracket assembly loose until fit up of the new fan guards. Block (10) will be welded into place after its position has been established when assembling the new fan guards.
Bottom of radiator.25. Install the lower rubber baffles and strips (13). Place the fabricated strip (14) underneath strip (13).Fasten 4P8952 Bracket Assembly (15) to the fabricated strip with 9B7237 Bolts (16) and 5P1075 Washers. Leave the bracket assembly loose until fit up of the new fan guards. Fabricated strip (14) will be welded into place after its position has been established by the new fan guards. 26. Install four 4P9056 Guard Assemblies (17) as follows:* Fasten the guard assemblies to the top, bottom and side mounting brackets with four 6V8801 Nuts, 5P1075 Washers and 4L6454 Bolts (18).* Fasten the guard assemblies together with twelve 8T4896 Washers and 4L6454 Bolts (19).* Fasten the guard assemblies to the rear shields with sixteen 8T4896 Washers and 9B7237 Bolts (20).27. When proper fit-up has been assured, tack weld fabricated strip (14) to the bottom tank. Tack weld fabricated block (10) to the top tank.
Bottom of radiator.28. Transfer two holes (J) to the bottom tank.29. Remove guard assemblies (17); the upper strips and rubber baffles; the top bracket assembly; the lower strips and rubber baffles; and bracket assembly (15).
Bottom of radiator.30. Drill two 11.00 mm (.433 in) Dia. holes (J). Insert bolts through holes (J) to locate two 2F2978 Weld Nuts (21). Weld in place.31. Make a 4.0 mm (.16 in) fillet weld on both sides of fabricated strip (14) at location (K).
Top of radiator.32. Make a 3.0 mm (.12 in) fillet weld at location (L). On the other side of fabricated block (10) at location (M), make a 4.0 mm (.16 in)
