Connect extension screed tamper (2) to the extender screed tamper using shaft (2C), torsional coupling group (2A), rectangular key (2B), rectangular key (2E), and socket screws (2D) on both extension side.Note: Be sure to install the keys, in the correct positions on opposite sides of the shaft as shown in Illustration 5.

Install extension package pre-assembled by the factory and tighten the three bolts (1A) to 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).Note: Use bolt (1B) below to adjust the extension soleplate respect to the extender soleplate.

(3) 469-2223 Heater Wiring
Connect the heater wiring (3) to either extender junction box plug. The other plug is used for an optional endgate heater.Note: The extension package 4.0 m (13.12 ft) and 4.6 m (15.09 ft) are not having their own temperature sensor but the heating is driven by the extender temperature sensor. No Changes are needed in the machine configuration through CAT ET.

Install screed extension (4) using existing fasteners. Remove the existing main screed lateral cover (E) as shown in Illustration 10.Note: Use the actuator (4A) to raise or lower the prestrike off to adjust material quantity in front of the screed tamper.

Install auger extension group (5) using existing fasteners (G) and remove the existing auger segment (F) as shown in Illustration 11.Note: Align the leading edge of the auger with the trailing edge of the auger on the other side of the auger support as shown in Illustration 12.

Install extension group mainframe (6) using three bolts (6A), six washers (6B), and three locknuts (6C).Note: Move the auger paddle sensor on the extension mainframe side on the three fixing holes as shown in Illustration 13.
Repeat the same Step 3 from to Step10 for the other side of the screed.Note: Follow the same procedure to assemble 4.6 m (15.09 ft) extension package.Repeat two times the Step 4, since there is a coupling also for the vibe shaft.
