D11R (9TR, 8ZR) Track-Type TractorsThere are two ways to implement the new power train software. One way is to order the software group and flash the data into the existing control module. The other way is to order a control module with the software pre-loaded.
The new 158-1275 Electronic Software Group can be ordered from a Caterpillar dealer. The software is delivered as a computer disk or can be obtained using the mailbox system and Hyper-Access Version 5. Hyper-Access Version 5 is available by ordering LERQ3113, "Hyper Access/5 PC Communication Software with Instruction Book." Hyper-Access Version 5 is not the engine bulletin board. The software can be flashed into the machine's existing 132-2148 or 142-3363 System Electronic Control Module.
The software can also be ordered as a pre-load in the 158-4629 Electronic Control Group. If a pre-load control module is installed on the machine, all clutch and brake calibrations must be performed as well as the FNR transmission calibration.
For machines with the 134-5259 Electronic Control Module which is not flashed with Electronic Technician but is flashed with the DOS IOHC Command, order the 158-1276 Electronics Group.
The following list is a summary of the software changes.
* Electronic Technician support for power train calibrations has been added.* A message has been added in order to provide information to the individual who is performing the flash process.* Some brake level warnings are raised to level 3 rather than level 1.* The software takes the failure mode action of applying the brakes and latching the brakes. This occurs in cases of some detectable double failures of brake components.
