Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Rotate pinion shaft (11) to reposition plunger (7). Reposition plunger (7) to remove valve retainer (8). Use Tooling (A) to turn valve retainer (8) 1/4 of a turn to remove valve retainer (8). Remove valve retainer (8), spring (9), and valve seat (10) .

Remove O-ring seal (13) from valve seats (12) .Installation Procedure
Install the valve (check/relief) in the reverse order of removal.

Clean the valve seat bore and the valve seat sealing surface thoroughly before installing.
Use a suitable hammer and a suitable driver to install valve seats (12) .
Apply Tooling (D) to cover seal (6) before installing cover (2) .
Apply Tooling (D) to cover seal (3) before installing cover (1) .
Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of cover (1) and cover (2). Tighten cover (1) and cover (2) to a torque of 3254 N m (2400 lb ft).
