Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Note: Ensure that the flange of the crankshaft and the front housing are thoroughly clean and dry.
Use Tooling (B) to install crankshaft front seal (1) in the front housing.
If equipped, apply a light coat of liquid soap to the inner diameter of excluder (2) and the outer surface of the vibration damper prior to installation of excluder (2) . Use Tooling (C) to install excluder (2) on the vibration damper. Install excluder (2) to a depth of approximately 13 mm (0.5 inch) on the vibration damper.Note: The installation of the vibration damper will place the excluder in the proper position.End By: Install the vibration damper and the pulley. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Vibration Damper and Pulley - Remove and Install".
