Procedure 1. Right Valve Bank.
Procedure 2. Left Valve Bank.
Personal injury or death can result without releasing all of the hydraulic pressure. Release all the hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are disconnected.
Personal injury can result from hot oil spray and raised equipment. Make sure all equipment has been lowered, oil is cool, and the pressure has been released from the hydraulic system before removing any components or lines. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared collect fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Procedure 1. Right Valve Bank.
1. Park machine on hard level surface.2. Lower all attachments to the ground.3. Remove plug (3), spring (2), and ball (1) from signal passage of each valve in right valve bank.4. Cover signal ports of right valve bank with shop towels to absorb oil spray from ports.5. Place suitable container under right valve bank to collect expelled oil.6. Start and run engine at low idle.7. Feather each implement control lever of the right valve bank.8. Operate an implement valve in the left bank valve to cause oil flow from the open ports in the right valve bank. This will completely flush the signal passage in the right valve bank.9. Stop engine.10. Install ball (1), spring (2), and plug (3) in signal passage of each valve in right valve bank.11. Fill and check hydraulic system for correct operation.Procedure 2. Left Valve Bank.
