Install bearing (16) on shaft (17).

Install shaft (17) and bearing (16) in hitch (1).
Install bearing cup (15) in hitch (1). Leave the bearing cup out of the hitch approximately 3 mm (0.2 in).

Install lip type seal (14) in bottom cover (13).

Apply Tooling (A) on bolts (12). Install bottom cover (13) and bolts (12) on hitch (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 54 N m (40 lb ft).

Install lip type seal (9) in top cover (8).

Install bearing (11) and bearing cup (10) in hitch (1). Leave the bearing cup out of the hitch approximately 3 mm (0.2 in).
Use the following procedure to determine the bearing preload:Note: The existing shim pack can be used for reference.
Install Tooling (B) on top cover (8) and install bolts (6). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 54 N m (40 lb ft).
Measure the rolling torque of the shaft. The correct rolling torque of the shaft is 31 10 N m (23 7 lb ft).
If the rolling torque of the shaft is less than 31 10 N m (23 7 lb ft), remove the bolts, the top cover, and the proper shims.
If the rolling torque of the shaft is more than 31 10 N m (23 7 lb ft), remove the bolts, the top cover, and the shims. Use a soft hammer and drive the shaft and the bearing cup toward the front of the yoke to loosen the bearing preload. Add the proper number of shims to the shim pack.
Reinstall the shims, the top cover, and the bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 54 N m (40 lb ft).
Measure the rolling torque of the shaft. The correct rolling torque of the shaft is 31 10 N m (23 7 lb ft).
After the rolling torque of 31 10 N m (23 7 lb ft) is achieved, remove the eight bolts and apply Tooling (A) on the bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 54 N m (40 lb ft).

Install two bearings (5) in hitch (1).

Attach a suitable lifting device to end plate (3). Install the end plate on the end of the shaft and install two bolts (4). The weight of the end plate is 38 kg (84 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device to hitch (1). Install the hitch and bolts (2). The weight of the hitch is 150 kg (331 lb).

After the yoke and the hitch has been installed, the cavities must be filled with grease by using the following procedure:
Remove plug (32) and install Tooling (C). Fill the cavity with Tooling (D) until the grease comes out of seal (34).
Remove plug (33) and install Tooling (C). Fill the cavity with Tooling (D) until the grease comes out of seal (31).
After both cavities have been filled with grease, remove both of the fittings and install plugs (32) and (33).
