ACTION REQUIRED
Record new stator serial numbers so that they can be entered into the warranty claim. Record the numbers prior to starting the removal process.
Follow the diagnostic procedure REHS8561 (Procedure to Diagnose Propulsion Group Motor Diagnostic Codes on Certain D7E Track-Type Tractors) in order to determine if the propulsion module failed a stator. Provide this information to the Dealer Technical Communicator (TC). Work with your Dealer TC to submit the information to Caterpillar through CPI Feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi). Give the information to your Dealer TC along with this service letter program number and CPI number 304683.
Request the Dealer TC to submit the CPI Feedback.
If it is determined that the stator has failed refer to:
the disassembly and assembly manual (KENR5606) for the propulsion group and
replace both stators.
