1. Put a bar in position in the belt tightener as shown. Pull down on the bar and remove the tension from the vee belts. Remove vee belts (1) from the belt tightener pulley.2. Remove the tension on the air conditioner compressor vee belt (if so equipped). 3. Remove fan guards (2) and (3). 4. Remove shield assemblies (4) and (5) from the right side of the radiator guard. 5. Fasten a hoist to the fan and adapter as shown. Remove six nuts (6). Remove fan and adapter (7) from the fan drive. The weight of the fan adapter is 88 lb. (40 kg).Install Fan
1. Fasten a hoist to the fan and adapter. Put fan (1) and adapter in position on the fan drive. Install the six nuts that hold the adapter to the fan drive. 2. Install the upper and lower shield assemblies (2) on the right side of the radiator guard. 3. Install fan guards (3) on the shield assemblies. 4. Put a bar in position on the belt tightener as shown. Pull down on the bar and put vee belts (4) in position on the pulley.5. Tighten vee belt for the air conditioner compressor (if so equipped) until it deflects 1/2" (12 mm) for a new belt or 5/8" (16 mm) for an old belt under the application of a 25 lb. (110 N) force half way between the pulleys. A Borroughs Gauge No. BT-33-95 can also be used to make the vee belt adjustment. The correct gauge reading for a new belt is 120 5 and for a belt with a minimum of 30 minutes of operation time 90 10.end by:a) install hoods (rear panel only)
