Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Disconnect the batteries. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil Change".

Put an index mark on the harness assemblies that are connected to prelubrication oil pump (1).
Disconnect the harness assemblies from prelubrication oil pump (1).
Disconnect the tube assemblies from inlet port (4) and outlet port (5) from prelubrication oil pump (1).
The weight of prelubrication oil pump (1) is approximately 20 kg (43 lb).
Remove bolts (3) and spacers (2) and remove prelubrication oil pump (1). Installation Procedure

The weight of prelubrication oil pump (1) is approximately 20 kg (43 lb).
Position prelubrication oil pump (1) and install spacers (2) and bolts (3).
Connect the tube assemblies to inlet port (4) and outlet port (5) on prelubrication oil pump (1).
Connect the harness assemblies to prelubrication oil pump (1) .
Connect the batteries. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil Change".
