Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
The fuel hose and clip needs to be updated on the products listed below. The existing clip can wear into the fuel hose causing a leak. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 21Jul2009 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
1. Remove the 244-4967 fuel hose, clips, and bracket if present. Retain for reuse the 6V-4248 Bolt and 6V-5839 Washer used to hold the bracket to the cylinder head. Do not reuse the clips, bracket, and hose.

2. Install the new 344-0291 Fuel Hose. Use the grommet, two piece clip, and the retained bolt and washer to secure the fuel line as shown in Image 1.2.1.

3. Start machine and check for leaks.
