When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
Certain 464-9988 A/C Compressors may fail prematurely if placed into service on certain Off-Highway Trucks, Motor Graders, and Wheel Loaders. If the existing A/C compressor fails it can/will cause unplanned downtime.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 464-9988 A/C Compressors in dealer parts stock. Refer to Image1 on how to read the date code from the serial number film.
If a 464-9988 A/C Compressor is built in September 2016 or after, they are okay to use (Date codes beginning with EK, ET, ER, ED, T, or P). Mark the package as inspected per this program and return the part back into dealer parts stock.
If a 464-9988 A/C Compressor has a build date of August 2016 or before, take a picture of the serial number film that will be uploaded with the claim and remove the part from dealer parts stock.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all parts removed from dealer parts stock. Include a picture of the serial number film of the compressor(s) removed from dealer parts stock with the claim.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
