Use two people to carefully remove tong cylinder (12) from the grapple. The weight of tong cylinder (12) is approximately 64 kg (140 lb).
Remove the bushing from the rod end of the cylinder and two bushings from the head end of the cylinder.
Repeat the procedure for the removal of the other tong cylinder.Installation Procedure

Install the bushing to the rod end of the tong cylinder and two bushings to the head end of the tong cylinder.
Use two people to carefully install tong cylinder (12) in the grapple. The weight of tong cylinder (12) is approximately 64 kg (140 lb).

Use a pry bar to align the bores and install pin (19) .
Install lock pin (18) .

As required, install the necessary number of shims under plate (17). Install plate (17) and bolt (16) .

Install lockplate (15), the washer, and bolt (14) .

Carefully lift tong cylinder (12) and remove wood block (13) from the grapple.

Install pin (11) .

Install locknut (9) and shoulder bolt (10) .

Connect hoses (5) and (6) to the tong cylinder.
Repeat the procedure for remaining tong cylinder.

Install cover (4), the washers, and bolts (3) .

Remove wood blocks (8) from grapple tong (7) .End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
