Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.Turn the disconnect switch OFF when draining and/or removing any fuel system components.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Disconnect electrical connector (4) .
Disconnect two hose assemblies (2) .
Remove three bolts (1) and the washers.
Remove the fuel priming pump and primary filter (3) as a unit.Installation Procedure

Install the fuel priming pump and primary filter (3) as a unit.
Install three bolts (1) and the washers.
Connect two hose assemblies (2) .
Connect electrical connector (4) .End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
