Investigate the travel route for overpass clearances. Make sure there will be adequate clearance if the machine being transported is equipped with a ROPS, cab or canopy.To prevent the machine from slipping while loading, or shifting in transit, remove ice, snow or other slippery material from the loading dock and the truck bed before loading.
Obey all state and local laws governing the weight, width and length of a load. Observe all regulations governing wide loads.
1. Block the trailer or rail car wheels before loading (trailer shown).2. Position the machine on the transport machine. Lower attachments to floor. 3. Disengage the flywheel clutch. 4. Move the transmission speed control lever to first speed. 5. Apply the service brakes and engage the parking brake.6. Stop the engine. 7. Engage the flywheel clutch. 8. Turn the electrical disconnect switch OFF and remove the key.9. Install tie-downs at several locations, and block tracks, front and rear.10. Cover the exhaust opening or secure the rain cap to prevent the turbocharger from "windmilling" in transit.Check all highway and local laws governing weight, width and length or load.Contact your Caterpillar dealer for shipping instructions for your machine.
