The Special Publication, JEHP1026, "Information and Requirements Sheet" lists the required hardware and the features of Cat ET.Cat ET is needed for determining diagnostic codes or for clearing diagnostic codes. Cat ET can display information about the diagnostic code history and Cat ET can also display information about the parameter status. Because of these features, Cat ET is a useful service tool for troubleshooting.Cat ET, which connects to the service connector, communicates with the ECM via the Cat Data Link or the "J1939" Data Link.Connect Cat ET to the engine and start Cat ET. Cat ET will initiate communication with the ECM or the PCP. After communication has been established, Cat ET will list the modules that are present on that Data Link.
