The radiator and radiator guard was removed for photo illustration. 1. Remove the vee belts for the fan drive from pulley (1).2. Loosen the belt adjustment rods (3) on the alternator and the refrigerant compressor. Remove vee belts (2). 3. Remove four bolts (4) that hold the pulley to the adapter. Remove pulley (1). 4. Remove one bolt at location (5) and install tool (A).5. Remove bolts (6) that hold the damper and the adapter to the crankshaft.6. Remove damper (7) and adapter (8).Install Vibration Damper And Pulley
The vibration damper has marks (1) on the hub and ring. These marks show an indication of the condition of the vibration damper. If the marks are not in alignment, install a new damper.
1. Install tool (A) in the crankshaft.2. Put adapter (2) and damper (3) in position on the crankshaft.3. Install the five bolts that hold the damper and adapter on the crankshaft. Remove tool (A) and install the other bolt. 4. Put pulley (4) in position on the vibration damper. Install the four bolts that hold the pulley to the damper. 5. Install alternator belt (5) and refrigerant compressor belt (6). Make an adjustment of the belt tension with a belt tension gauge such as Burroughs Tool Company Part No. BT-33-72-4-15 or an equivalent. See Specifications for correct setting.6. Tighten the nuts on the belt adjustment rods to a torque of 110 15 lb.ft. (149 20 N m).7. Install fan drive belts.
