Remove the inlet and exhaust valves. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet and Exhaust Valves - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Use Tooling (A) to remove valve guides.Installation Procedure

Lubricate the outside of the valve guides with clean engine oil.Note: Depending on the cylinder head, the same valve guides for inlet and exhaust or different valve guides for inlet and exhaust may exist. Depending on the valve guide, the installation height may change.
Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to install the valve guides. The inside diameter of the guides must be 9.487 0.025 mm (0.3735 0.0010 inch). The maximum diameter for used guides is 9.545 mm (0.3758 inch).For 213-7536 Valve Guide (Inlet) , install to a height of 26.0 0.8 mm (1.02 0.03 inch).For 213-7537 Valve Guide (Exhaust) , install to a height of 32.3 0.8 mm (1.27 0.03 inch).For 123-3984123-3985151-1329151-1330 Valve Guides , install to a height of 32.3 0.8 mm (1.27 0.03 inch).End By: Install the inlet and exhaust valves. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet and Exhaust Valves - Remove and Install".
