Installation Procedure
Check the mating surfaces of the front idler and the recoil spring and ensure that the surfaces are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to reassembly.

Attach two lifting straps and a hoist to front idler (1). Install the front idler in the track roller frame. The weight of the front idler is approximately 430 kg (950 lb).

Use a hoist and lifting slings to position recoil spring (3) against the bearings on front idler (1). Install bolts (2) and tighten the bolts to a torque of 540 70 N m (400 50 lb ft). The weight of recoil spring (3) is approximately 615 kg (1350 lb).

Fasten three lifting slings and a hoist to front idler (1) and recoil spring (3).

Turn the front idler and the recoil spring around 180 degrees. The weight of the unit is approximately 1080 kg (2375 lb).
Slide the front idler and the recoil spring partially into the track roller frame. The lifting sling on the recoil spring will need to be readjusted in order to completely install the front idler and the recoil spring into the track roller frame.

Use a pry bar to slide the recoil spring and the front idler into the track roller frame. End By:
Connect the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Connect".
