Start By:a. remove cylinder head assembly
The keepers can be thrown from the valve when the spring compressor is released if they are not in their correct position on the valve stem. To prevent possible injury, be sure to stay away from in front of the valve retainer and springs.
1. Use tooling (A), and compress valve springs (3); then remove keepers (1). Remove tooling (A), rotocoil assembly (2) and springs (3). The valve shield (not visible in illustration) should come off attached to rotocoil assembly (2). Repeat Step 1, and remove springs (5); then remove bridge support (6).2. Repeat Step 1 for all valves. The following steps are for the installation of the valves. 3. Lubricate the valves with engine oil, and install the valves in the cylinder head.4. Position bridge support (6), the valve shield (not visible in illustration), valve springs (3) and rotocoil assembly (2). The valve shield is installed in rotocoil assembly (2) before installing the rotocoil assembly over the valve stem and springs. Use tooling (A), and compress valve springs (3); then install keepers (1). A small amount of grease will help hold keepers in place during assembly.5.
