Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

If necessary, remove housing (7).

Install Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to torque converter (6). The weight of torque converter (6) is approximately 109 kg (240 lb).Note: The torque converter needs to make three spline connections and spin freely to be properly seated.
Install torque converter (6) Remove the suitable lifting device and Tooling (A).
Position a new gasket and reinstall housing (7).

Install retaining ring (5).

Install plate (4). Install retaining ring (3).

Install the O-ring seals onto pilot (2). Using Tooling (B) install pilot (2). Install retaining ring (1).End By:
Install the transmission.
