2. Disconnect hose (1) from parking brake cylinder (4). Cap or plug all openings immediately.3. Remove adjusting nut (2) from the parking brake cylinder piston rod.4. Remove the two bolts that fasten parking brake cylinder (4) to support (3), and remove the parking brake cylinder. The following steps are for installation of the parking brake cylinder.5. Fill the parking brake cylinder with clean Automatic Transmission Fluid, Type F.6. Connect hose (1) to parking brake cylinder (4). 7. Position parking brake cylinder (4), and install the two bolts that fasten the parking brake cylinder to support (3). Move adjusting nut (6) away from support (5).8. Clear all personnel from around the machine. Start the engine. Release the parking brake, then set the parking brake. Shut the engine down.9. Adjust nuts (2) and (6) until the distance between the end of piston rod (7) and the rod end of the cylinder body, dimension (X), is 230 mm (9 in).
Inadvertent engagement of the ground drive system could cause personal injury. Have one person at the controls at all times when working on the ground drive system with the engine running.
10. Start the engine, and release the parking brake. Check the distance between the end of piston rod (7) and the rod end of the cylinder body. The distance, dimension (Y), should be 287 mm (11.3 in). If the distance is not correct, turn adjusting nuts (2) and (6) as necessary to correct the distance.11. Check the distance, dimension (Z), between each adjusting dowel (9) and brake lever (10). The distance should be 0.5 mm (0.02 in.). If the distance is not correct, adjust nut (8) and the dowel as necessary to correct the distance.12. Clear all personnel from around the parking brake, and set the parking brake. Shut the engine down.Disassemble And Assemble Parking Brake Cylinder
Start By:a. remove parking brake cylinder 1. Remove nut (6) from stud (7). Remove O-ring seal (3), and loosen clip (2). Remove boot (5) and the clip from the stud.2. Remove vent (4) from cylinder (1). 3. Put cylinder (1) in position in a press. Push down on cover (9) with tooling (A) and the press to release the spring pressure against snap ring (8). Remove snap ring (8), and slowly release the spring compression. Remove cover (9) from stud (7).4. Remove four bolts (21), and remove cover (20) and O-ring seal (19) from ring (17).5. Remove snap ring (18), and remove ring (17) from cylinder body (16).6. Remove stud (7), spacer (10), piston (14) and springs (11), (12) and (13) from the cylinder body.7. Remove O-ring seal (15) and stud (7) from piston (14). For assembly of the parking brake cylinder, reverse the disassembly steps.
