At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by slowly loosening the fill cap located on top of the hydraulic oil tank.2. Open the engine access door on the right side of the machine. 3. Disconnect three hose assemblies (2) from filter base (3). Cap and plug immediately.4. Remove four bolts (1), and remove filter base (3) and filter from the machine. 5. Remove plug (4), spring (9) and bypass valve (8) from filter base (3). Remove O-ring seal (10) from the plug (4). Check the O-ring seal for damage or wear and replace if necessary.6. Remove two screws (5), and remove bypass indicator (6) from the hydraulic oil filter base. During assembly, apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock on the threads of the two screws. Tighten the two screws to a torque of 1.7 N m (15 lb in). Do not over tighten the screws.7. Remove filter (7) from the filter base. When installing the filter on the filter base, tighten the filter to a torque of 44 3.5 N m (32.4 2.6 lb ft). For installation of the hydraulic oil filter, reverse the removal steps.
