Place "CB1" in the OFF position in order to remove the power.
Disconnect the speed sensor from terminals 4 and 5 of the tachometer.
Connect the positive lead of the diagnostic and calibration tool to terminal 4 of the tachometer and connect the negative lead of the diagnostic and calibration tool to terminal 5 of the tachometer.
Place "CB1" in the ON position.
Set the diagnostic and calibration tool to 10 Hz below the overspeed setting. See Table 2 for the overspeed setting for the rated RPM of the engine.The relay ("EOSSR") should be de-energized.
Set the diagnostic and calibration tool to 10 Hz above the overspeed setting.The relay ("EOSSR") should be energized and the engine should shut down.Note: If the system is equipped with an annunciator, check the indicator for the overspeed. The indicator should be illuminated.
After the engine shuts down, place the engine control switch in the OFF/RESET position.
If the system is equipped with an annunciator, actuate the acknowledged switch and depress the reset push button.
Manually reset the air shutoff.
Place the engine control switch in the LOCAL position.
