Debug File
While the on-board software is in operation, problems may occur. Specific information that is related to a problem is written to a file while the system is in operation. The information is used by developers to help isolate the problem. This process is called "debugging". The name of this debug file is "caes.dbg".When the on-board software is started, the debug file is written to the "Caes\temp" folder. If the system is operating normally, the debug file will only contain two entries. The first entry contains the time that the on-board software was started. The second entry contains the time that the on-board software was shutdown.If the on-board software encounters problems, additional information is sent to this file. If a problem is serious and the problem continues to occur, the debug file can become large. The information will continue to be written to the file until the on-board software is shutdown.When the on-board software is shutdown, all of the information in the debug file is written to the diagnostic file that is in the "caes\diag" directory. When the on-board software is started again, the diagnostic file is sent to the office. Any information from the debug file appears before the normal diagnostic information.Note: A technician may request the diagnostic file to resolve a problem with the on-board software.
