Information:

Improperly adjusted bucket clearance could cause galling on the contact surfaces of the bucket and stick, resulting in excessive noise and/or damaged O-ring seals.
(1) No Gap. (2) Stick Boss. (3) Bucket Clearance. (4) Shim Group. (5) Pin. (6) Plate. (7) Bolts. (8) Washers. (9) Location. (10) Flange. (11) Bucket Boss. The bucket linkage clearance of this machine can be adjusted by shimming. If the bucket-to-stick gap becomes excessive, adjust to the specification shown below. Two different size shims of 0.5 mm (.02 in) and 1.0 mm (.04 in) thicknesses are used at location (9).
Bucket linkage adjustment area.1. Position the machine on a level surface and lower the bucket to the ground.2. Slowly operate the swing control lever until the stick boss (2) and left bucket boss (11) are in full face to face contact (no gap) (1). This is to help determine the total clearance of the stick-to-bucket connection.3. Place the hydraulic activation control lever in the LOCKED position and stop the engine.4. Measure distance (3) which is the existing total clearance.5. Determine the shim thickness that needs to be removed from shim group (4) by performing the following calculation. Thickness of shims to be removed:Total clearance (3) - [0.5 to 1.0 mm (.02 to .04 in)] = thickness of shims to be removed6. Remove the appropriate number of shims to meet the above calculation. Be sure to use a minimum of three 0.5 mm (.02 in) shims. To remove shims, remove bolts (7), washers (8), and plate (6).7. After the correct number of shims have been removed, install plate (6), washers (8), and bolts (7) with pin (5) aligned with pin hole. Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 240 40 N m (180 30 lb ft).8. After installation, make sure that clearance (3) is still correct.Cab Air Filter
Clean
1. Filter (3) is located behind the cab.2. Loosen two bolts (1) and remove cover (2) and filter (3).3. Clean the filter using a maximum of 200 kPa (28 psi) pressure air.4. Inspect the filter after cleaning. If it is damaged or badly contaminated, use a new filter.5. When installing a filter, direct the arrow mark provided on top of the filter towards the inside of the cab.Cab Heater/Air Conditioner (If Equipped)
Clean Air Filter Element
An air filter element plugged with dust will result in decreased performance and service life of the air conditioner or cab heater (if equipped). To prevent decreased performance, clean the air filter element, as required.
The air filter element is located in the storage box behind the cab.Use the following procedure to clean the filter element.
Typical example.1. Move the back of the seat forward until there is enough space to remove storage box (4).2. Remove four screws (1) and (2) that hold storage box (4) in place. Connector (3) is for machines equipped with the heater/air conditioner control panel mounted on the storage box. If the heater/air conditioner control panel is mounted on the left console, disregard step 3.3. Disconnect connector (3) from the control panel.4.
