When "DIAGNOSTICS" menu is selected (see Illustration 3), the following options are presented:

The "LOGGED DIAGNOSTIC CODES" menu displays active errors in the CID - FMI format. Press the up key (1) or down key (4) to scroll through the logged diagnostic codes.

Press the "OK" key to see the list of logged diagnostic codes. Move the cursor to highlight the desired diagnostic code. Press the "OK" key to show the detail of the logged diagnostic code. The detail of a logged code will display the following items:MODULE ID - Control module ID of the ECM that detected the error.COMPONENT ID - Component ID that is in error status.FAILURE MODE ID - Failure mode IDOCCURANCE - The number of times the error occurred.FIRST - The first time the error occurred.LAST - The last time the error occurred.WCI - The warning level for the occurrence.

When the detailed view of the "LOGGED DIAGNOSTIC" code is displayed, as in Illustration 6, the logged diagnostic code can be deleted or saved. Press the "DELETE" key in order to delete the logged error. The delete confirmation screen will appear. To confirm the delete request, move the cursor to the "YES" option and press the "OK" key. The logged diagnostic code can be saved by pressing the "SAVE" symbol. Note: The menu navigation for the "ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC CODES" is like the process described for navigating the "LOGGED DIAGNOSTIC CODES" menu.

The "LOGGED EVENT CODES" menu displays logged events in the EID - LEVEL format. Press the up key (1) or down key (4) to highlight the desired item. Press the "OK" key to see the detail of the logged event. Using Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) to Determine Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Connect the Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET) to the machine. Turn the key start switch to the RUN position. Start the Cat ET. The Cat ET will initiate communications with the Electronic Control Modules on the machine. After communication has been established, the Cat ET will list the Electronic Control Modules.
