B 1P-2420 Transmission Repair Stand 1 Start By:
Remove the torque converter housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Torque Converter Housing - Remove". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to torque converter housing (1) and position torque converter housing (1) on Tooling (B). The weight of torque converter housing (1) is approximately 80 kg (175 lb).

Remove bolts (2) and shield assembly (3).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to pump drive (4). Remove bolts (5) and (6). The weight of pump drive (4) is approximately 31 kg (70 lb).

Remove O-ring seals (7) from the torque converter housing (1).
